Ten Days Later.....

Yes, so after starting my running blog, I stopped running! But I'm back. The running "break" was due to a visit from Grandma, and then 3 days with just me and the kids, and then a VERY long trip home that involved way too much time in the Atlanta airport, and then a few days of getting used to being home (i.e., unpacking and putting away all of those shorts and sandals...wah!).

Today was nice for Vermont, though - about 35 degrees and sunny.

Today's run:
3.14 miles (hey! It's pi!)
40:05
12:46 pace (remember, there are HILLS in Vermont)
8:57 max pace
806 cal
257 cal/mi (about 80 more per mile than in Florida)

I saw my old friend Porkchop on my run. (Well, her name could be Pork Chop. I'm not sure, and as she's a dog, she's not likely to tell me any time soon.) And not much else. It was nice, actually, to be out on the dirt roads again. Though they're mud and ice right now. But still. I definitely enjoyed running under the palm trees...but I could not live in Florida.

I have 12 weekends before my half-marathon...that will make for some interesting training! I'm looking at 6 or 7 miles this weekend, and 8 or 9 miles next weekend. We'll take it from there.

I also just ordered a treadmill, so I will have no excuse not to run. I find treadmill running to be excruciatingly BORING, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. And I can set up the car DVD player, at least, and watch some old X-Files episodes while I sweat. That's a sort of motivation.
