Friday night we took my older daughter to a kids' fun run (1/4 mile). A 5K followed, but I volunteered to help out on the course instead of running. However, the volunteering motivated me to sign up for a local 5K the next morning.
My DH drove me to the registration, and I realized as I got out of the car that I'd forgotten my Garmin. Horrors! How would I possibly run without knowing exactly how fast and far I was going?
Well, as it turned out, I'd run pretty damn well. Under 10-minute miles (I don't know my exact time -- about 30:30, or a bit less) kind of well. (Results aren't posted yet.) I haven't run a 5K that fast since before I had kids.
So...yes, Virginia, it is possible to have TOO MUCH information.
