Instead of 8 miles, I did 5.15 miles. My excuse is that I don't have time to do 8 miles, but that's bull. I can sit here surfing the internet for an hour and feel like I'm not procrastinating, because I'm immediately available if someone calls or emails me. Out there running, I'm not immediately available. Of course, 99% of the time, no one cares if I'm immediately available! It's all in my twisted little mind.
Anyway....here are the stats.
5.15 miles
59:26
11:32 pace
7:55 max pace
149 bpm
171 max bpm
1005 cal burned
Once again, I tried to keep my heart rate up, but it just doesn't happen. Part of it is the 2-3 times I walked, but part of it seems to be that I just can't get my body to want to go that fast. I ran the last 1.1 miles in 12 minutes, which was at least remotely close to my tempo run time (10:54 or so, whereas my tempo pace is supposed to be 10:47). But before that I didn't feel like I could go that fast. It's like I save it all for the end, rather than burning out somewhere along the way. Maybe next time I will TRY to burn out along the way. Or maybe I'll just do intervals the whole time and see if that ups my heart rate and/or pace at all.
Eight miles on Saturday (Sunday I have the kids all day as DH is going to Montreal). Tomorrow I should do something, hill repeats or something....but I am supremely unmotivated. As I think I have mentioned.
